Pakistan coach Woolmer dies at 58 (Reuters/CNN)

Bob Woolmer, the coach of Pakistan’s cricket team whose squad was shocked in World Cup play by a loss to Ireland on Saturday, was found in his hotel room unconscious and later died as a result of his injuries.

He was 58.

Wrestlers allegedly tied to drug ring (SI.com)

Luis Fernando Llosa and L. Jon Wertheim of Sports Illustrated continue to report the evolving story of an online pharmacy raid whose clients are said to be prominent sports figures.

In their latest interview, Llosa and Wertheim disclosed the names of several WWE wrestlers, including Randy Orton, Mysterio and the late Eddie Guererro.  In total, 11 ‘professional’ wrestlers have been implicated in this case.

Oops: Ainge, Jordan get fined over Durant

Ainge, Jordan receive fines from league over Texas freshman star (Charlotte Observer)

Jordan’s Bobcats were fined $15,000 by the NBA for his comments last week, when he said “The kid who may present that (versatility) is the kid in Texas; may have that because he has all the right signs.”

The Celtics’ Ainge was hit with a $30,000 fine by the league because he had talked too much with Durant’s mother when his seat coincidentally was located next to hers at the Big 12 tournament.

Yeah, coincidentally.

Jaguars safety Sensabaugh arrested (Ultimate Jaguars/PFT.com)

In an offseason that’s reminscient of a very special episode of ESPN’s ‘Playmakers’, another NFL player was arrested over the weekend.

Jacksonville Jaguars safety Gerald Sensabaugh was arrested Sunday and charged with misdemeanor speeding and carrying arms inside his vehicle.  The 23-year old is out on $750 bail.

Report: Dolphins’ Porter, Bengals’ Jones in altercation (ESPN News Services)

Just when you thought it was safe to say that a Cincinnati Bengal would stay out of trouble.

Levi Jones, offensive tackle,  and recent free agent signee of the Miami Dolphins, Joey Porter, were involved in an altercation on Sunday night in Las Vegas, Nev.  Porter allegedly slugged Jones in the face and was cited for misdemeanor battery.

Jones was treated at the scene.

Niners’ Nolan has plan to fix pass interference calls (ESPN News Service)

San Francisco 49ers coach Mike Nolan has a message for NFL officiating crews — let the punishment fit the crime when it comes to pass interference calls.

The Niners coach has suggested to the NFL Competition Committee a tweak to the league’s pass interference rules that would allow for either a 15-yard penalty or, for harsher calls, spot of foul penalty.

Nolan’s proposal has already been reviewed by the committee.
