Iowa buys domain names that could criticize coaches (AP/ESPNU)
The University of Iowa has taken a unique approach to combating Internet sites dedicated to criticizing school coaches — buying potential domain names.
According to a broadcast report on ESPN’s SportsCenter, John Clayton informs the show that the Washington Redskins have dealt safety Adam Archuleta to the Chicago Bears for a sixth round pick.

According to Clayton, the Bears had to re-work Archuleta’s ridiculous contract to a more manageable $8.1 million over three years. His original deal with Washington totaled $25 million.
UNC’s Davis undergoes chemo for growth in mouth (AP/ESPN)
University of North Carolina football coach underwent chemotherapy after a cancerous growth was found (and subsequently removed) from his mouth.
Dodgers extend Little’s deal (AP/Yahoo! Sports)
The Los Angeles Dodgers have extended manager Grady Little’s contract to include an option for 2009, the Associated Press reports.
Little, the 25th manager in Dodgers history, finished fourth in the NL Manager of the Year voting.
LSU’s Davis headed to the NBA (AP/ESPN)
LSU’s standout center Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis has elected to forego his senior season at the school and will declare himself eligible for the NBA Draft, the Associated Press reports.
The 6-foot-9, 290 pound Davis figures to be a high lottery selection in the upcoming draft.
Gartner resigns from NHLPA (CP/Sportsnet.ca)
NHL legend and current director of NHLPA’s hockey affairs, Mike Gartner, has resigned.
He leaves amid a growing controversy among its rank-and-file and an investigation of the union’s chief, Ted Saskin based upon allegations of NHLPA executives snooping around players’ emails.
